TEAM STORM DEFEATS TEAM FROST 3-2

Team FROST got off to an excellent start by knocking out two of Team STORM’s players early.  STORM team captain iDom, with his main character Laura banned once again, continued to struggle using Birdie and lost to UpToSnuff’s Necalli in the first round.  FROST’s Dual Kevin with Rashid defeated Clasico’s Urien in round two and the situation looked grim for Team STORM.   If there’s one thing that this week’s action taught us is that it’s not over until the last team player is eliminated. STORM’s Samurai, always focused and poised, single-handedly defeated each of Team FROST’s players in turn with three straight 2-0 victories in a stunning upset!

Character Bans: Laura and Kolin

TEAM INFERNO DEFEATS TEAM SPIRIT 3-2

Punk and Team INFERNO brimmed with confidence as the match with Justin Wong’s Team SPIRIT began.  Justin Wong used a different strategy with his character ban this week by targeting Rashid, the main character for INFERNO’s JB, instead of the one used by the opposing team’s captain.  Punk, using Kolin, took round one against Psycho’s Necalli while SPIRIT’s Brian_F won round two against BrolyLegs’ Chun-Li.  Justin Wong’s strategy paid off in round three as JB, using Birdie as a secondary, was easily beaten by Justin Wong’s Karin.  At this point SPIRIT had two players remaining against Punk for Team INFERNO. Punk would beat Brian_F in round four, pitting the two team captains against one another to decide it all.  The match between Punk and Justin Wong was a thrilling back and forth that came down to an edge of your seat scramble in the very last round of the set.  Punk was once again victorious and Team INFERNO continues its first place lead with another win.

TEAM GALE DEFEATS TEAM PSYCHO 3-0

NuckleDu’s Team GALE, coming off a loss to Team FROST last week, got back on track this week with a sweeping win against Toi’s Team PSYCHO.  Shine’s Juri beat Toi 2-0 to start things off in round one.  GALE’s RobTV and PSYCHO’s JustAKid have formed a rivalry already this season with smack talk on both sides and they finally faced off in round two.  RobTV’s Karin settled the score (for now) with a win over JustAKid’s Juri in round two 2-0.  NuckleDu, who has used R.Mika as a main character himself over the last few years, faced off against El Chakotay’s R.Mika in round three.  El Chakotay’s R.Mika had flashes of success here and there but he could not overcome NuckleDu’s Cammy.  Team GALE now has two wins on the scoreboard and takes a second place position on the standings.
