TEAM INFERNO DEFEATS TEAM STORM 3-1

This week’s competition began with Team INFERNO taking on Team STORM.  Team INFERNO has demonstrated that they are the team to beat right now as they got the win over Team STORM 3-1.  STORM team captain iDom, with his main character Laura banned once again this week, has not found success using Birdie yet.  Punk, Team INFERNO’s captain, showed his character versatility by using Kolin against Samurai.  INFERNO’s JB continues to be incredibly strong as well and has not lost a match since the competition began.

Character Bans: Laura and Karin

TEAM FROST DEFEATS TEAM GALE 3-2

Team FROST came back from their loss to Team INFERNO last week with a win against Team GALE but they had to fight hard to earn it.  GALE’s RobTV’s Karin beat Dual Kevin’s Rashid to lead things off 2-1.  Team FROST captain Nephew, with his main character Kolin banned, shocked onlookers with an incredibly strong G as a secondary character.  Eventually Nephew was the last remaining FROST team member facing two from Team GALE. Nephew went on to defeat both RobTV and GALE team captain NuckleDu to secure victory.  Also interesting was NuckleDu’s choice to play using Cammy despite not having any of his main characters banned.  It didn’t work out against G but it does show that NuckleDu has more tricks up his sleeve.

Character Bans: Ibuki and Kolin

TEAM SPIRIT DEFEATS TEAM PSYCHO 3-2

Team SPIRIT took an early lead as SPIRIT’s Brian_F and team captain Justin Wong defeated PSYCHO’s El Chakotay and Toi in close matches.  Once again it was up to PSYCHO’s JustAKid and his Juri, who single-handedly defeated all of Team STORM last week, to make a comeback against great odds.   JustAKid would beat SPIRIT’s Psycho and Brian_F but would finally be defeated by Justin Wong.  Justin’s main character Menat was not banned this week and that made a huge difference for Team SPIRIT.  It will be interesting to see if Menat is back on the banned list again next week.
