It’s day four of Street Fighter League EMEAA season 5 and the day’s team matches shook up the standings. RED DUNES was at the top of the standings going into the first team match with MVS, YESPORTS, and GTW all tied just 10 points behind in second through fourth place. MOUZ and FALCONS occupied the bottom two spots. FALCONS is in danger of being eliminated and desperately needed wins.

MATCH 1: FALCONS (HOME) vs GTW (AWAY)
Away Team Player and Character Order: 1) Xian (Kimberly), 2) Hope (A.K.I.), 3) Zhen (Sagat), EXTRA) Bravery (Cammy)
FALCONS needed every point it could get in these last two days, and the first team match of day four was against GTW. This FALCONS’ last home game of the season, so they needed to make this count. Xian’s Kimberly opened strong for GTW, beating Micky’s Cammy 2-1. Hope’s A.K.I. followed with a scrappy 2-1 win over Kusanagi’s Ryu in a match that could have gone either way. In the anchor position, Xiao Hai’s M.Bison beat Zhen’s Sagat and later his M.Bison 3-1, giving FALCONS 20 points to tie the score. In the extra match, Bravery’s Cammy easily dispatched VXBao’s Jamie 2-0, giving FALCONS a much-needed 30-20 victory.

MVS prevailed 30-10 over YESPORTS in the second team match. Rainpro’s Guile took the opening game against NL’s Luke, but NL recovered to win the set 2-1. Chris Wong’s Luke answered for YESPORTS with a 2-0 win over Leshar’s Ed, tying the score 10-10. It was down to the anchors to decide the team match winner. Kilzyou’s Mai won a thrilling, back-and-forth match 3-2 against HotDog29’s Alex after a nailbiter finish.

RED DUNES delivered the first 40-0 shutout of the season against MOUZ on day one. Here in the rematch MOUZ was much closer411, but RED DUNES still got the win with a 30-20 score. The team match opened with JuicyJoe’s JP defeating Lexx’s Guile 2-1, which was a tense set that went to the final round of the final game. The situation continued to look dire for MOUZ as Phenom’s Cammy beat EndingWalker’s Ryu 2-0 to give RED DUNES a 20-point lead. MOUZ answered in the anchor position as Problem X’s Alex earned a crushing 3-0 win over AngryBird’s Akuma, to tie the score. Big Bird’s C.Viper sealed the victory for RED DUNES with a 2-0 win over DCQ’s M.Bison in the extra match.

GTW and YESPORTS entered this team match third and fourth place in the standings, respectively. With only the top four teams advancing to the playoffs, both teams needed a win to create breathing room. When it was over GTW got a 30-20 win over YESPORTS. Hope, one of the standout players this season and a consistent source of 10 points for GTW, opened with another win with his A.K.I., beating Chris Wong’s Luke 2-0. Zhen added another 10 points for GTW with his M.Bison after beating HotDog29’s Alex in a close 2-1 set. YESPORTS stayed alive in this team match when Rainpro’s Guile got a razor-thin victory over Xian’s Kimberly 3-2 in the anchor position to tie the score. In the extra match Bravery continued to be solid in the cleanup role, with his Cammy winning 2-0 against Keekuma’s Mai.

MVS earned a 40-0 shutout over RED DUNES after Kilzyou pulls off a dramatic comeback in the anchor position. Leshar’s Akuma earned a 2-0 victory over JuicyJoe’s JP in the first set. Mister Crimson followed with a 2-1 win using C.Viper against Phenom’s Cammy, in a set that went to the final round of the final game. In the anchor match, Big Bird’s C.Viper won the first two games against Kilzyou’s Mai. The situation looked bleak, but Kilzyou clawed his way back to win the scrappy set 3-2, securing the shutout for MVS.

The final team battle of day four was a battle between the bottom two teams in the standings: MOUZ and FALCONS. FALCONS was mathematically alive for the playoffs but had extremely long odds. MOUZ entered the team match 40 points behind 4th place YESPORTS and still had a realistic chance to make the cut. When it was over MOUZ earned a crucial 30-10 win over FALCONS. VXBao got a 2-1 win over DCQ in the M.Bison mirror-match to give FALCONS a strong start. Lexx’s Guile beat Micky’s Mai and then Cammy 2-0 in the next set to tie the score 10-10. In the anchor match, Problem X’s Alex went head-to-head against Xiao Hai’s M.Bison. Xiao Hai won the first game, but Problem X made some incredible reads and prevailed 3-1.
