It was do-or-die time for the six teams entering the fifth and final day of the regular season, with only four teams advancing to the playoffs. MVS began the day in first place on the standings after two impressive wins on day four, followed closely by GTW in second place. RED DUNES fell from first place to third after day four, with YESPORTS holding fourth place. MOUZ was in fifth place on the outside looking in and FALCONS is mathematically eliminated and played the role of spoiler. The teams also played for seeding in the playoffs, as third and fourth will start in the first round of the bracket, second place starting in the second round and first place advancing directly to the Grand Finals.

MATCH 1: RED DUNES (HOME) vs FALCONS (AWAY)

RED DUNES started the final day of the regular season strong, earning a 30-10 win over FALCONS. FALCONS struck first in the first set of the team match. Kusanagi hasn’t had the strongest showing this season, but he got a win in the opening match. Kusanagi’s Ryu beat JuicyJoe’s JP in the final round of the final game 2-1 to give FALCONS the early lead. Big Bird answered for RED DUNES in the next set as his C.Viper defeated Micky’s Mai 2-0. In the anchor match, Phenom looked comfortable as his Cammy defeated Xiao Hai’s M.Bison and Ryu 3-1.

First place MVS took faced second place GTW in a battle between the top two teams in the standings. Leshar’s Akuma faced Xian’s Kimberly in the opening set, winning 2-1 to give MVS the first 10 points. Zhen’s M.Bison defeated NL’s Luke 2-1 in the next match to tie the score. In the anchor match, Hope stepped in with his A.K.I. to take on Kilzyou’s Mai and then Cammy. Hope defeated Kilzyou 3-1, giving GTW a 30-10 victory.

Both YESPORTS and MOUZ were on the edge of playoff qualification, with YESPORTS holding the fourth and final spot and MOUZ in fifth place, looking to overtake. YESPORTS walked away with the win, scoring 30-10 over MOUZ. Chris Wong scored the first 10 points for YESPORTS with his Luke as he beat Lexx’s Guile after two close games. EndingWalker answered with his Ryu in the next set against HotDog29’s Alex and M.Bison to tie the team match score. Rainpro was in control of the anchor match set from beginning to end as his Guile got a solid 3-0 win over Problem X’s Alex.

Going into this team match, MVS had enough points for a spot in the playoffs and was now playing to improve its seeding. FALCONS was out of contention and were playing for pride. MVS was also the home team and could counterpick the FALCONS lineup, yet FALCONS pulled off a surprising 30-10 victory. NL’s Luke beat VXBao’s M.Bison 2-0 in the opening set to give MVS 10 points. The momentum shifted to FALCONS in the next match as Xiao Hai’s Mai easily defeated Leshar’s Ed 2-0. Micky then sealed the victory for FALCONS from the anchor position as his Cammy defeated Mister Crimson’s C.Viper 3-1.

MOUZ still had a chance to make the playoffs, but it needed to shut out GTW and then have RED DUNES shut out YESPORTS. As the home team, MOUZ could also choose the matchups. MOUZ’s playoff hopes were dashed after the first set as Zhen’s M.Bison beat EndingWalker’s Ryu 2-1. Lexx’s Guile then earned the final 10 points of the season for MOUZ with a 2-0 win over Xian’s Kimberly. Hope delivered another impressive performance with his A.K.I. in the anchor position with a 3-1 win over DCQ’s M.Bison, securing GTW’s 30-10 victory. With this win GTW secured the top spot of the standings for the regular season, giving them the first seed in the playoffs.

At stake in this team battle was seeding in the playoffs. RED DUNES delivered a 40-0 shutout against YESPORTS, finishing the season in second place. Phenom’s Cammy beat Chris Wong’s Luke 2-1 followed by AngryBird’s Ken defeating Keekuma’s Chun-Li 2-0. Big Bird’s C.Viper looked to be cruising for an easy victory against HotDog29’s Alex in the anchor position, winning the first two games. HotDog29 made a comeback, winning the next two games, but Big Bird won the final game for a dramatic 3-2 victory that completed the shutout for RED DUNES.

TEAM STANDINGS AFTER DAY FIVE
GTW finished the regular season in first place followed by RED DUNES, MVS and YESPORTS rounding out the playoff teams. MOUZ and FALCONS finished in fourth and fifth place.

MVS is the home team in the first round taking on YESPORTS. RED DUNES will be the home team taking on the winner and GTW is waiting in Grand Finals.
