Derek “iDom” Ruffin reigns as the 2019 Capcom Cup champion thanks to his dominance with jiu-jitsu master Laura and a surprising secondary in Poison. His Grand Finals set against fellow East Coast beast Victor “Punk” Woodley left the crowd gripping their seats in anticipation — especially those who had watched Season 1 of Street Fighter League and witnessed the thunderstorm of pwnage that electrocuted his opponents when Laura was finally freed. We can thank SFL’s character ban system for iDom’s Poison, a brand-new fighter he might not have otherwise chosen, for leading him to victory against his longtime training partner, Punk.
