The first half of season eight came to a close with day four, and it was a day full of incredible Team Battles. Day four also featured a total of six Team Battles instead of the usual five. BANDITS was still the lone unbeaten team coming into day four and SHOPIFY REBELLION overtook 2GAME for second place, pushing the latter to third. Each of the seven teams was looking to finish strong in this last day of round one, fighting for every match, game and round.
The first round of the season will take place over four days starting on Thursday, November 13th and finishing on Sunday, November 16th. Be sure to cath all of the action live on Capcom Fighters on Twitch and Youtube.
MATCH 1: 2GAME (HOME) vs RED ROOSTER (AWAY)

2GAME started off strong with two 40-0 shutouts in day one, but over the next few days they have faced more resistance. They lost their last two Team Battles, including taking a shutout themselves against BANDITS. Here against RED ROOSTER 2GAME returned to form, earning yet another 40-0 for the season. Juninho-Ras’ Luke started things off with a 2-0 win against Mono’s A.K.I.. In the next set Chris Wong’s Luke got a strong win in the first game against Shaka’s Dhalsim but the latter won the next two, finishing 2-1. Blaz with his Sagat got a largely one-sided win against Mono’s Mai in the anchor position, winning in six straight rounds.

MATCH 2: FLYQUEST (HOME) vs FALCONS (AWAY)

FLYQUEST got a come-from-behind 30-20 victory against FALCONS in this Team Battle. In the first two sets things broke for FALCONS. Xian’s Dee Jay got a 2-0 win against Nephew’s Juri in a back-and-forth set to start things off. DCQ’s M.Bison came out swinging against Psycho’s Kimberly, winning the first game with a double perfect and carrying on to win the set 2-0. With their backs against the wall, Punk went into the anchor match with C.Viper for the first time against NL’s Akuma. NL could not adapt to the C.Viper and Punk won 3-0. With the score now tied 20-20 it was time for the tiebreaker and Riddles faced off against Oil King in a Terry mirror match. Riddles had control for the whole set, winning 2-0 to give FLYQUEST the 30-20 comeback win.

BANDITS has another close call against KUAISHOU GAMING in a Team Battle that went to the final round of the final game. KUAISHOU GAMING started strong with two wins in the opening sets with Zhen’s M.Bison winning 2-0 over Caba’s Guile and Micky’s Mai beating Booce’s Terry 2-0. MenaRD’s Blanka got a dominant 3-0 victory against Xiao Hai’s Mai to tie the score 20-20. In the tiebreaker Chris T’s Ken faced VXBao’s Ed in a high energy match that went to the final round of the final game. In a scramble at the end Chris T managed clutch out the final blow to win the set 2-1.

FLYQUEST got their second Team Battle win of day four and with a 40-0 shutout here against RED ROOSTER. Both of the first two sets of this Team Battle were close, but they both broke for FLYQUEST. Riddles’ Terry defeated Craime’s Ryu 2-1 in the first set and Nephew’s Juri came out on top of Chris Wong’s Luke 2-1. The anchor match was almost entirely in Punk’s control as his Cammy faced Crossover’s Mai. Crossover get more aggressive and had more success in the third and final game, but Punk still prevailed to finish 3-0. FLYQUEST finished day four with two Team Battle wins while RED ROOSTER was on the receiving end of two shutouts.

SHOPIFY REBELLION and 2GAME had a slugfest of a Team Battle that went to the final round of the final game, with SHOPIFY REBELLION getting the 30-10 win. NuckleDu’s Mai got a 2-1 win over Brayan_Job’s Dee Jay in the first set. Next up Juninho-Ras’ Luke got a narrow win against Shine’s Kimberly in the last round of the last game, finishing 2-1. The anchor match between Dual Kevin’s Rashid and Blaz’s Sagat was truly epic, with intense back-and-forth exchanges and some unbelievable reads. Dual Kevin came through in the clutch in the last round of the last game, winning 3-2 and delivering victory for SHOPIFY REBELLION.

In the very last Team Battle of round one, KUAISHOU GAMING gets their first win of the season after beating FALCONS 30-20. Each of the first two sets were close, going to the final round of the final game. Xian’s Dee Jay defeated Micky’s Mai 2-1 in the first set. Next up was an intense M.Bison mirror-match between DCQ and Zhen that was a back-and-forth slugfest, with DCQ winning 2-1. In the anchor match Xiao Hai’s Mai came out on top of NL’s Akuma 3-1 and VXBao’s Mai made quick work of Oil King’s Terry 2-0.
