The second round of season two started today with day five. As round two began BANDITS was on top of the standings as the lone remaining unbeaten team. The other six teams were close behind, looking to overtake them. At the end of round two on day eight we go right into the US Finals, which takes place on Sunday, December 7th. It will be interesting to see how teams used the break between rounds to adapt and change approaches to their round two runbacks.
The second round of the season will take place over four days starting on Wednesday, December 3rd and finishing on Saturday, December 6th. The US Finals will take place on Sunday, December 7th. Be sure to cath all of the action live on Capcom Fighters on Twitch and Youtube.
MATCH 1: BANDITS (HOME) vs FLYQUEST (AWAY)

Day five started off with first place BANDITS against second place FLYQUEST. Psycho and his Kimberly drew first blood in the opening set, beating Booce’s Terry 2-0. Caba and his Guile versus Nephew’s Juri was up next and it was the closest set of the Team Battle, going to the last round of the last game. Nephew won the first game in two rounds, but in the next game Caba started gaining momentum. Caba would win 2-1. The anchor match was between MenaRD’s Blanka against Punk’s Cammy. MenaRD won the first game in two rounds, after which Punk made the surprise character change to Akuma. The next two games were incredibly close, with just one or two interactions being the difference between victory and defeat. In the end MenaRD won both games to finish 3-0, preserving the unbeaten streak for BANDITS 30-10.

2GAME got a 40-0 shutout against KUAISHOU GAMING on day one. In the runback KUAISHOU GAMING got their revenge, getting their own 40-0 win. This Team Battle was a slugfest, with all three sets going to the final game and two of the three going to the very last round. Zhen’s M.Bison started it off with a 2-1 win against Brayan_Job’s Dee Jay. VXBao’s M.Bison got a hard-fought win against Shaka’s Dhalsim 2-1. Xiao Hai’s Mai finished the Team Battle with a 3-2 win against Blaz’s Sagat.

SHOPIFY REBELLION got a 30-10 win over FALCONS in the third Team Battle of the day. The first set between Xian’s Dee Jay and JAK’s Juri was very close, going to the final round of the final game. JAK went on to win 2-1. FALCONS bounced back in the next set as DCQ’s M.Bison got a 2-0 win over NuckleDu’s Mai, not losing a round. With the score tied 10-10 it was up to the anchors to decide and here Dual Kevin’s Rashid came through for SHOPIFY REBELLION against NL’s Akuma 3-1.

BANDITS notched yet another Team Battle win, this time 30-20 against RED ROOSTER. RED ROOSTER’s first Team Battle of the second round was hard-fought, and they came very close to an upset. RED ROOSTER started off strong with Chris Wong’s Luke getting a strong 2-0 win against Caba’s Guile followed by Craime’s Ryu beating Booce’s Terry 2-0. Even with this strong start they still had to beat MenaRD’s Blanka in the anchor position, and Crossover’s Mai nearly pulled it off. Every game in the set was a back-and-forth slugfest. The difference was several interactions where MenaRD made clutch plays to win key rounds and games, allowing him to prevail 3-1. In the tiebreaker match Chris T’s Ken defeated Mono’s A.K.I. 2-0. Chris T once again proves his worth in the tiebreaker spot with a perfect 3-0 record so far.

In the last Team Battle of day five KUAISHOU GAMING got a big 30-20 win over SHOPIFY REBELLION. Both teams took turns dominating sets to start the Team Battle. JAK’s Juri won the first round of the set against Zhen’s M.Bison, after which Zhen won four straight for a quick 2-0. Micky’s Mai won the first game against Dual Kevin’s Rashid in the next set, after which Dual Kevin dominated the next two very short games for a 2-0 victory. While the first two sets were one-sided, the anchor match between Xiao Hai and NuckleDu was not. It was a Mai mirror match and both players were swinging, doing everything they could to disrupt Mai’s offense to regain initiative. Xiao Hai would prevail 3-2, giving KUAISHOU GAMING their second victory of the day.
