TEAM GALE DEFEATS TEAM STORM 3-2
Character Bans: Ibuki and Akuma
The first team battle of the Championships was between iDom’s Team STORM and NuckleDu’s Team GALE. Things looked promising for STORM as iDom, who had a rare opportunity to use Laura after being banned for most of this season, eliminated Shine handily in round one. NuckleDu’s G made short work of Clasico’s Urien in round two and STORM’s Samurai, using Ryu, subsequently eliminated RobTV. The team captains faced off next and NuckleDu defeated iDom in round four, leaving it up to Samurai to once again claim victory for Team STORM. This time Samurai would come up just short as NuckleDu got the win. NuckleDu’s G looked incredibly strong in this team battle and Team GALE moved on to the Grand Finals.

TEAM INFERNO DEFEATS TEAM FROST 3-1
Character Bans: Necalli and Karin
Punk’s Team INFERNO has looked nearly unstoppable all season. Punk’s ability to play multiple characters at a high level, coupled with JB’s ability to clutch out wins with his Rashid, is a powerful combination. FROST team captain Nephew eliminated BrolyLegs in the first round but after that it was all INFERNO as JB and Punk took turns defeating their opponents. The final battle between JB’s Rashid and Nephew’s Kolin was a real nail-biter but JB once again came out on top, allowing Team INFERNO to join GALE in the Grand Finals.

GRAND FINALS: TEAM INFERNO DEFEATS TEAM GALE 3-1
Character Bans: Karin and Guile
The Grand Finals between these two great teams was every bit as thrilling as you would expect. GALE’s Shine was actually able to use his main character, Ibuki, who was banned for most of the season and he defeated BrolyLegs in the first round. JB eliminated RobTV in round two and a battle between the team captains came up next. Punk, using Cammy, faced off against NuckleDu’s G in an incredible battle that went back and forth between the two world-class players but Punk narrowly came out on top. The final team battle between JB and Shine, with two highly mobile characters, was a non-stop flurry of offensive ebbs and flows and mix-ups. In the final round of the match both players were down to low life and JB was able to once again clutch out the last hit after a frantic scramble.
