RED DUNES won both team matches and earned the first 40-0 sweep of the season on day one, topping the standings when it was over. MVS also opened with two wins to take second place. GTW and YESPORTS both earned a win and a loss, and FALCONS and MOUZ entered day two looking for their first wins. MOUZ had a rough start, earning only 10 points after two team matches.

MATCH 1: MOUZ (HOME) vs YESPORTS (AWAY)

MOUZ had a tough day one but started day two strongly, winning 30-20 over YESPORTS. This team match was also the first of the season to need an extra match to break a tie after the anchor match. Starting things off, EndingWalker’s Ryu won a nailbiter set against Rainpro’s Guile 2-1. Following that, Lexx’s Guile defeated HotDog29’s Alex and Guile in a close 2-1 set that went to the final round of the final game, giving MOUZ a 20-0 lead. Chris Wong’s Luke came through for YESPORTS in the anchor position, beating DCQ’s JP 3-1. With the score now tied 20-20, Problem X’s Alex narrowly defeated Keekuma’s Chun-Li and Mai 2-1 in the extra match to decide the winner.

FALCONS were still looking for their first win of the season as they went into this team match against RED DUNES. They pulled off an impressive 30-10 victory, handing RED DUNES their first loss of the season. Micky’s Mai got a strong 2-0 win over JuicyJoe’s JP, which included a rare double-KO finish for the first game, to give FALCONS the first 10 points. Kusanagi’s Ryu stepped into his first match of the season against AngryBird’s Akuma, and AngryBird’s efficient play earned him a 2-0 win to tie the score. On day one Xiao Hai was the only FALCONS player to score points, and he was not in the anchor position for either of those team matches. In this team match, he stepped into the vital anchor position for the first time with his M.Bison against Big Bird’s C.Viper. Xiao Hai won 3-1, handing Big Bird his first loss of the season.

MVS and GTW were second and third place, respectively, after day one with MVS winning both team matches and GTW going 1-1. GTW handed MVS their first loss of the season, 30-10. In the first set Mister Crimson’s Dhalsim took on Hope’s A.K.I. Hope smothered Mister Crimson with offense and won 2-0 with both games ending quickly. Kilzyou’s Mai took on Zhen’s Sagat in the next match. Kilzyou’s Mai was aggressive from the very first second, easily winning 2-0 with Zhen mostly on the back foot. In the anchor match, Leshar selected Terry to face Xian’s Kimberly. Xian had the control and the momentum for most of the set, winning 3-1.

FALCONS and MOUZ both got their first wins of the season in their opening team matches of day two before facing one another. Problem X came through in the anchor position to give MOUZ a crucial 30-10 win. Micky’s Mai got a narrow 2-1 win over EndingWalker’s Ryu in the first match. In the last game, EndingWalker seemed to have won with a chip-out sequence but miscalculated, allowing Micky to recover and win the game and the match. DCQ’s M.Bison defeated Kusanagi’s Ryu 2-0 to tie the score of the team match 10-10. In the anchor match, Problem X’s Alex won a back-and-forth set against Xiao Hai’s Mai 3-2, handing the latter his first loss.

After taking a loss against FALCONS earlier in day two, RED DUNES bounced back with a 30-10 win over MVS. The team match opened with a thrilling faceoff between Phenom’s Cammy and Leshar’s Ed. The set went to the final round of the final game, with Leshar coming out on top 2-1. Next, Mister Crimson’s C.Viper took on AngryBird’s Ryu. Mister Crimson won the first game, but AngryBird reversed the momentum and won the next four rounds to take the set 2-1. Big Bird’s C.Viper got another win in the anchor position against NL’s Luke. It was an exciting set with lots of adaptation by both players, with Big Bird prevailing 3-2.

In the final team match of day two, GTW earned a huge 30-20 victory against YESPORTS. YESPORTS got a strong start in the team match with HotDog29’s M.Bison handing Hope his first loss 2-0. In the following match, Rainpro got his first win of the season with his Guile, beating Xian’s Kimberly 2-0 and giving YESPORTS the 20-0 lead. Zhen’s M.Bison came through in a big way for GTW in the anchor match against Chris Wong’s Luke. It was a slugfest with multiple momentum changes, and in the final round of the final game Zhen landed the final blow to win 3-2 with a nailbiter finish. With the score tied 20-20 it was Keekuma’s Chun-Li versus Bravery’s Cammy in the extra match. Bravery came out swinging with constant pressure, winning 2-0 to give GTW the come-from-behind victory.
