Just two weeks remain in the STREET FIGHTER LEAGUE: Pro-US 2019 competition. The Mid-Season Final will be held at CEO on June 28th with the top four teams competing for the prize pool. With time running out and only four teams making the cut, every win or loss is crucial. Here’s a recap of this week’s episode!

TEAM INFERNO DEFEATS TEAM PSYCHO 3-0

Punk’s Team INFERNO defeated Toi’s Team PSYCHO 3-0 this week but this team battle was not the lopsided victory that the score suggests. While it’s true that each of Team INFERNO’s players defeated their Team PSYCHO opponents, each of those match-ups was very close and could easily have gone the other way. This win was an important one for INFERNO as it puts them back into first place and the match wins strengthen their position in tie-breakers.

TEAM SPIRIT DEFEATS TEAM FROST 3-2
Result from Battle in Week 5: FROST defeats SPIRIT 3-2, character bans: Rashid and Balrog

It looked like this team battle might be a clean sweep for Team SPIRIT with Brian_F and team captain Justin Wong defeating Dual Kevin and Up To Snuff in the first two rounds. FROST team captain Nephew and his dangerous Kolin turned the situation around starting in round three, defeating SPIRIT’s Psycho and Brian_F. The battle would be decided as the two team captain faced off in a tense nail-biter that came down to the last round of the last match. Justin Wong came out the victor, securing the third win for Team SPIRIT.

TEAM GALE DEFEATS TEAM STORM 3-1
Result from Battle in Week 5: STORM defeats GALE 3-2, character bans: Laura and R.Mika
Character Bans: Ibuki and Akuma
iDOM’s Team STORM was looking incredibly strong going into this week, having won the last six team battles and moving into first place on the standings. NuckleDu’s Team GALE put an end to that win streak with a big impact on STORM’s place on those standings. GALE’s RobTV defeated Clasico in round one 2-1 while STORM’s Samurai, with his Akuma banned and playing Karin, beat Shine 2-1 in round two. NuckleDu, using G, handed the first loss to iDom’s Laura 2-1 in round three. Round four was a Karin mirror match between RobTV and Samurai with RobTV coming out on top 2-0.

TEAM STANDINGS
Team INFERNO’s win over PSYCHO moves them back into first place with a 7-2 score. The team battle between STORM and GALE had a big impact as GALE’s win moved them up to second place while STORM dropped to third place because of tie-breakers, both with 6-3 scores. Team FROST holds fourth place at 4-5 and SPIRIT holds at fifth with 3-6. Team PSYCHO holds sixth place at 1-8. Next week will be the last week of the competition with the top four teams moving on to the Mid-Season Final.
