The scoring for the Team Battles is the same as the regular season.  At the end of the Group Stage the teams are ranked first by wins with tiebreakers being points followed by battle wins then finally rounds.  The Final Stage was a first to 70 points with teams swapping home and away teams after each set.  There were no tiebreaker matches.

GROUP STAGE RESULTS:

REJECT took the top spot because they had 4 wins and no losses and would have the home team advantage.  Both BANDITS and NINJAS IN PYJAMAS held 1-3 records, but BANDITS won the tiebreaker for Battle differential and so BANDITS advanced to the Finals.

FINAL STAGE: REJECT vs BANDITS

It was time for the showdown between REJECT and BANDITS as the Finals got underway.  The first set was completely in favor of REJECT as they got a 40-0 sweep.  Tokido’s JP beat Caba’s Guile 2-1 followed by Leshar’s Ed defeating Booce’s Terry 2-1.  In the anchor match, Fuudo was locked in with his Ed against MenaRD’s Blanka, winning 3-1.

In the second set BANDITS was the home team and they switched up their approach, leading off with MenaRD’s Blanka against Leshar’s Ed.  The strategy may have been to get some points on the board early in the set to boost morale.  MenaRD came out on top over Leshar, giving BANDITS their first 10 points in the Finals.  Chris T with his Ken went in next against Daigo’s Akuma.  Daigo dominated in the first game, but Chris T adapted and won the next two games to finish 2-1 in a thrilling match.  BANDITS looked like they were building up some momentum until the anchor match.  Fuudo’s Ed was once more waiting for the challenger from BANDITS and Booce’s Terry went in.  As he had done time and again in the World Championship, Fuudo stood strong and won 3-1.

After the second set REJECT had a substantial 60-20 lead, which was just 10 points away from victory in the Finals.  As the away team Booce’s Terry was first up in the order and Leshar’s Ed stepped in.  Leshar won 2-0, pushing his team to 70 points and completing the victory for REJECT in the Finals.
